I totally disagree with the idea that technology creates more problems than it solves.
First, technology has definitely improved the quality of lives in terms of communication. For example, thanks to the Internet, we can communicate with people anywhere on this planet. I personally have many friends living outside of Japan who I want to keep in touch with. Smartphones enable me to talk with them anytime and anywhere.
Secondly, technology allows us to travel overseas easily. Thanks to the technology of airplanes, we can travel much more easily than in the past. Even when we reserve a ticket, the Internet does help us a lot. When you want to get information about your destination, you can just look it up on the Internet. Even when you are at your destination, a translation app might help you communicate with people there.
We are never able to stop technology from advancing, so the important thing is that we learn to use it wisely without damaging the quality of life.
